AUBURN - Kelly Blumrick scored an unassisted goal eight minutes into the game as the Auburn field hockey team tied Liverpool 1-1 on Wednesday. Stacey Hennick had 13 saves in goal, five of them coming in overtime.
"This was a big game for us today," said Auburn field hockey coach Michele Duprey. "They are No. 1 in the division, hopefully we can carry this momentum into Friday's game against Weedsport."
Duprey cited Andrea Musso, Alissa Walsh, Lee Downing, and Courtney Miskell for their solid defensive play.
Auburn (5-6-2) hosts Weedsport on Friday
Marathon 4, Union Springs 2
UNION SPRINGS - Erica Bizzari and Abby Cook each had one goal with Bizzari adding an assist as the Wolves lost to visiting Marathon. Jessie Kneaskern had nine saves in goal.
Marathon outshot Union Springs 13-4 and in penalty corners 21-5.
Union Springs travels to Spencer-Van Etten on Friday.
VOLLEYBALL
Groton 3, Moravia 0
MORAVIA - Leah Hilliard had two aces and two kills and Jaymi Kelly added four aces, one kill, and one assist as Moravia lost 25-15, 25-22, 25-13.
Amanda Maitland had one ace, two kills, and three assists. Cayla Wade had three aces and one assist.
Moravia (2-11) plays Southern Cayuga on Friday.
BOYS GOLF
Oswego 199, Auburn 205
AUBURN - David May was the medalist firing a 36. Ryan May shot a 38 and Brian Hoey shot a 41.

GROTON - Erica Lange scored three goals in the Blue Devils' win. Kathleen Youngs had two goals and one assist and Emily Shields added the other goal.
Katrina Dwyer had three assists and Kalan Morey added two assists.
Mattea Haessner had four saves in goal.
Moravia outshot Groton 29-6. Moravia (4-9-2) hosts Marathon on Saturday.
Marathon 2, Union Springs 1, OT
UNION SPRINGS - The Wolves rallied to tie it on Kelly Braham's goal on a crossing pass from Stephanie Bizzari. But the Olympians scored in the extra period on a direct kick.
Deven Gary had 10 saves for the Wolves and Deanna Bona was cited for defense.
GIRLS TENNIS
Fayetteville-Manlius 7, Auburn 0
MANLIUS - The Maroons' record dropped to 7-6 with the loss to the state-ranked Hornets. Auburn's final match of the season is Friday at Central Square, sectionals are on Saturday.
