Recount the news of past few weeks

Once again Auburn, it's snippet Thursday! Excerpts of particular interest from our very own Citizen:
The tempest's fury.

Hurricane siblings: Four - count them - four hurricanes in six weeks scour Florida. Homes destroyed. Lives disrupted. Costs well into the billions. And what will the good people of the Sunshine State do? The wise will move to less hostile climates. Those who remain will build their new abodes right back in the same hurricane beckoning spot. Is freedom from the snow shovel really worth it?

The tempest's economic effect.

Wood shortage: How about rocks? Rocks worked for the Flintstones. And look how long the pyramids have been around.

And speaking of ancient structures.

The Auburn Farmer's Market: It's stated that more accessibility is needed. How about the old Lehigh Valley round house?

Got Hay?

Higher milk prices: Gasoline or milk? Perhaps it's time for each household to have a cow or two.

Birds of a feather? Not necessarily.

"Fly-in" at the Holiday Inn: Many species of our feathered friends were invited #( crows however, did not need to RSVP.

Human gray matter is evolving out.

Slaves to the microchip: Computers dictate to the human whether or not a student can ride a bus to school.Whatever happened to common sense?

There is no substitute for victory.

Returning soldiers: Win it and get them all home.

The gender barrier crumbles to dust.

Well's goes co-ed: Men's colleges must accept women. Women's colleges can consider accepting men. To the dismay of a few, it seems that Double Standard 101 has been dropped as course of study. Now the resistance begins. Ah, how the human mind detests change!

Was Hitler only being politically correct?

Book banning and censorship: XXXXXXXXXX XX XXXXXX!! And that's the truth!

Is nothing sacred?

Politics at the Tomato Fest and at Chair-ity: My, oh, my, how politics can worm its way into something good and beneficial. An Anti-Bush chair!? Now the other side will want equal time ... or an equal bashing. How about a potty chair?

Will the squeaky wheels get the grease?

Biking for children's safety: Statistics only keep the record keepers employed and give politicians yet another platform. Action is what's needed.

Another Pompeii?

Mount St. Helens erupts. How much of a warning does the human race need?

And now, the lighter side.

Welcome and good luck! B, B & B, Countryside Market, Espressions and The Bread and Butter Shop.

The steam railroad makes a comeback: How about a stop at Auburn? The tracks run right behind Bass Pro.

Pet blessings. Hey, they need all the help they can get, too.
