AUBURN - Rosa Maggio, 91, formerly of Northbrook Heights, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, in the Auburn Nursing Home.
A native of Wellsville, Ohio, Rosa had lived most of her life in Auburn. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. She was employed for many years at the Dunn & McCarthy Shoe Co., and later was employed at The H.R. Wait Co., retiring in 1970.
She is survived by three sons, Rocco and his wife Laurie of Sodus, and Joseph and his wife Betty, and Andrew and his wife Patti, all of Auburn; two daughters, Marie Sokernyk and Nickie Bolak and her husband Peter, all of Auburn; four brothers, two sisters, 22 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. Friday, in St. Mary's Church, to be offered by the Rev. Frank Lioi. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today, at the Cheche Funeral Home, 1778 Clark St., Auburn. Contributions may be made in Rosa's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, East Genesee Street Road, Auburn, NY 13021.
