SARASOTA, Fla. -- Frank J. McHale, 75, of Sarasota, Fla., passed away Saturday, April 17, 2004.
Born July 11, 1928, in New York City, Frank was the son of Frank S. and Marie Moss McHale.
He had resided in the Auburn area from 1950 to 1988. During his years in Auburn, he was employed with Hislop's Department Store and later with Sutton Real Estate, where he was superintendent of the Metcalf Plaza, Metcalf Building, Carr Building, Genesee Mall and Auburn Medical Building.
In 1980, he went to work for the U.S. Postal Service at the Auburn Post Office, where he remained until 1988, at which time he transferred to the Gulf Gate Post Office in Sarasota, Fla.
He was a veteran of the Navy, having served during the Korean War.
Frank is survived by his wife of 25 years, June Dadson McHale; six daughters, Patricia (Jimmie) Mills of Carmi, Ill., Kathleen (Michael) Cunningham of Cicero, Sue Dwyer and her partner James Buschman, Eileen McHale and her fiance Robert Buschman, Noreen (Richard) Cornall, all of Auburn, and Virginia Schlesselman and her partner Mark Stehle of Skaneateles; one sister, Gloria Schaefer of Burbank, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Ann Tabone; and a granddaughter, Jamie Mills.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, in White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South St., Auburn.
Friends are invited to call on the family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5255 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Fla. 34238; or to the charity of one's choice.
