'God didn't send us here to fail'
AUBURN - Except for the Underground Railroad leader herself, few people have spent more time at the Harriet Tubman Home than the Rev. Paul Carter and his wife, Christine.
For the past 13 years, the Carters have worked at the home for the aging on South Street that Tubman ran before she died 91 years ago today.
They have given as many as 100,000 tours at the historical landmark, organized many events and attended countless meetings about the home and its famous owner. And, except for Tubman's descendants, not too many people know more about the woman who was known as "the Moses of her people."
