SYRACUSE - Two Auburn High swimmers secured spots in the state meet with their performances at the Section III championships at Nottingham High School on Friday.
Matt Valvo earned his spot with a third-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.12). Jordan Kilmer qualified in the 100 freestyle (49.08; second place).
Kilmer also took second in the 50 freestyle (22.66)
The Maroons placed second and third in the 500 freestyle thanks to the performances of Eric Stevens (5:13.09) and Preston Chaffee (5:17.08).
Stevens also swam to a fifth-place finish in the 200 freestyle (1:53.93), Charles Flanigan finished sixth i2n the 50 freestyle (23.58), and Ryan White was seventh in the 100 backstroke (1:00.05).
Kilmer, Stevens, Desotell, and Flanigan combined to grab second in the 200 freestyle relay (1:33.75).

The relay team of Dana Palmer, Tiffany Palmer, Elysia Townsend, and Amanda Kazanivsky finished fifth in the 4x800 (10:54.5) and sixth in the 4x400 (4:34.5).
Auburn will compete in the Select Meet at Manley Field House on Tuesday.

SKANEATELES - The win finished up the Lakers' regular season at 15-9, and 12-2 in conference.
Peter Elliott paced Skaneateles with two goals and one assist, and Jake Carlson added a score and an assist.
Trey Savage, Mike Perkins, and Jeff Dola also notched goals.
Goalies Chris Beardsley and Rob Prestemon combined for seven saves.
The Lakers will host New Hartford in the opening round of the playoffs next Friday at 7:30 p.m.

The Panthers led 34-28 at the half, but couldn't hold on.
"Our defense struggled in the fourth quarter," said Port Byron head coach Chris Ford. "We had trouble boxing out, and didn't do our stuff."
Nate Short (17 points) and Brett Moon (14) were the Panthers' top scorers.

LANSING - The Blue Devils couldn't handle the state-ranked Bobcats' defense. They were held scoreless in the second quarter.
On a night when baskets were hard to come by, Jessica Scott led Moravia with five points.
The Blue Devils (9-9) now await their seeding for the sectional tournament.
