Jack M. Sager

MORAVIA - Jack M. Sager, 85, of Church Street, Moravia, died unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Sager was born July 5, 1918, the son of George and Pearl Mead Sager. He was a resident of Moravia most of his life. He was a graduate of Moravia High School Class of 1936, Miami University of Ohio and Syracuse University, with a masters in accounting. Mr. Sager was previously employed with Wickstrom Construction in Skaneateles and Aramco in Saudi Arabia, from 1952 until his retirement in 1973.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army Medical Corps in the European Theater.

He enjoyed skiing, playing tennis and golfing. He was a member of Sylvan Lodge No. 41 F&AM, VFW Post No. 7127 of Moravia, the Moravia Chamber of Commerce, and was a past president and member of the Indian Mound Cemetery Association.

Survivors include his sister, Barbara Evertson of Moravia; nephews, William (Karen) Evertson of East Hampton, Conn., and David (Sandra) Evertson of Austin, Texas; and several cousins.

His brother, Kennard Sager, predeceased him in April 1997.

Funeral services for Mr. Sager will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, in the Wade Funeral Home, 22 Church St., Moravia. Burial will be in Indian Mound Cemetery, Moravia. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at the funeral home.
